The SBS Mendi Muruks registered another two points to secure their position in the Bemobile Cup finals, beating their brothers from Western Highlands, the Mt.Hagen Bintangor Eagles 38 points to 18.

Half-back Andrew Sam successfully converted 5 goals of the seven goal attemps.

Lahanis vs. Bombers
Goroka Bintangor Lahanis outside centre Garnet Auwo was the star of the match scoring a hat-trick to help his team oust the PNGATCL Lae Bombers 18 points to 10. The first 20 minutes of the game was very physical with both side showing off their ball skills with their forwards unleashing some of the most lethal runs and hit-ups ever witnessed.
Bombers were the first to add points to the board when Mark Mexico successfully converted a penalty after a high tackle call against the Lahanis. Shortly after, Mexico collected another 2 points, thanks to a high table call. This boosted the Bombers and two minutes later, forward Elias Midi barged his way to score under the uprights. The conversion was successful. Just minutes before half time, Garnet Auwo scored the first of his hat-trick, a much needed four pointer for the Lahanis. Conversion by the evergreen little general Bafinue was successful, keeping the Goroka boys hopes alive.
Second-half was dominated by the Lahanis. They denied the Bombers points with a much talked about defence. Try scoring machine, Auwo added two more tries making life difficult for the Bombers. Captain and man of the Match, Glen Nami successfully booted the goals to take the triumph over the Eagles.

Yes, this is the typical Lahanis we know. They cruize to the finals most years. However, in recent years, they have failed to win a grandfinal. We hope this will change this year.
The Lahanis boys are very capable of pulling it off this year. They have the experience upfront in the Likes of Hukula, Nami and Gande. The backline, in the forms of Auwo, Ilai and Iganafa can deliver. With new and exciting talents alongside them, they are can truly be formidable. Keep an eye out for young Jr Ben Tatsim. He is surely a star in making....
Yep Herick,
Lahanis are a force to be reckoned. They are a threat for the major prize. I hope last year's finals form does not repeat this time. They were the minor premiers then but bowed eventually. I hope they have learnt a thing or two from that and build on in the upcoming finals finals campaign. Unfortunately, their rep stars won't be available for the game this weekend, so as Rangers.
